Our daughter started working with MaryJo when she had just turned 4. Within her first month, she was already riding with little assist. MaryJo is a wonderful teacher. She is patient, kind, fun, and firm when it counts. She knows how to adapt to each person she is teaching so that it is most effective.
We’ve been fortunate to work with MaryJo and we are thrilled to recommend her to anyone and everyone we know.

I've been really enjoying my riding lessons, and I think MJ is a great instructor. She's very patient and kind, and she gives me the space to work on my own and think things out, which I really appreciate.
I like that we started on the ground, as this is an area where I need to build my skill and confidence. Now that we're working in the saddle, I'm focusing on relaxing my body, finding my balance, and using my body to communicate with my horse.
I also appreciate that I have the opportunity to practice outside of class time, which will help me progress and grow my skill faster.

My 14-year-old daughter and I started taking lessons with Mary Jo with the intent of owning a horse. We have never owned horses so we were starting from scratch. Mary Jo has educated us on proper care, groundwork, and building a positive relationship with appropriate communication skills to safely own a horse. My daughter and I each own our own horse now and continue working with Mary Jo to build a solid foundation that will progress into trail riding in the springtime. Mary Jo is exceptionally knowledgeable in both riding and everything horsemanship! She has demonstrated patience on our challenging days and uses those moments as opportunities for us to learn. Any time we have questions; Mary Jo is quick to respond with a thorough answer. There is much to learn in the world of horses and I’m thankful to have an instructor as knowledgeable and helpful as Mary Jo.
